You and God
The Bible says in John 3:16, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Every person is born sinful and must "show repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21). In order to be saved from God's fiery wrath which will be poured out on all sinners, you must admit that you have broken God's commandments and realize that you deserve eternal punishment in hell.
You are not a good person! Stop deceiving yourself! "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately (incurably) wicked; who can know it. I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings" (Jeremiah 17:9-10). "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). "There is none righteous, no, not one....There is none who seeks after God" (Romans 3:10). God will judge you according to His standards, not your own. "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life....And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:11-15).
You might ask, "If God is completely holy, and I am completely sinful, how can I ever know Him?" With man, this is impossible, "But with God, nothing shall be impossible." You are not good enough to ever satisfy God, but Jesus is. He satisfied God's anger by His sacrificial death upon the cross, but only for those who believe. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). You must hate the sin that separates you from God and embrace Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. "The wages of sin is death(hell), but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
It is God's grace that saves you. "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8).
Do you want to be forgiven? Do you want to escape hell? "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).
If you are ready to receive salvation, the following prayer will help guide you.
WAIT! YOU MUST COME TO GOD HUMBLY, IN REPENTANCE. REPENTANCE IS GODLY SORROW OVER YOUR SINS. IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE READY TO GIVE UP YOUR SIN AND TURN YOUR LIFE OVER TO JESUS CHRIST. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, these O God, You will not despise" (Psalm 51:17).
"Oh God! Have mercy on me, a sinner. I know that I have sinned against You and deserve Your punishment. But I believe that Jesus is Christ, and that He died on the cross to wipe my sins away so I could receive Your forgiveness. I beleive that He rose again in victory. Please save me and give me eternal life."
We join the angels in heaven in rejoicing for you as you begin your new life in Christ. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk(live) according to the flesh(sin nature), but according to the Spirit(The Holy Spirit that each person recieves upon salvation)" (Romans 8:1).
It is very important that you join with other believers in Christ for encouragement and accountability. You need to find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church where you can be discipled(taught the ways of Jesus). You need to be in an environment where you can learn God's Word and discover your spiritual gifts. You are now a "new creation." Your new life in Christ will not always be easy, but you will never walk alone--God's Spirit lives in you and will comfort, and guide you until your journey on earth is finished.
